The Team is extremely happy to announce that renowned English actor Jason Salkey is lending some unique support to the project. A future article will detail the fact that a good deal of the project was inspired largely by the Sharpe series of films. Originally the story was to take place in a medevial world, but Patrick's love of Sharpe and interest in the times of the Napoleonic Wars steered it toward that period. The project founders have watched hundreds of hours of Sharpe as well as the 1970 film Waterloo, the 2002 A&E miniseries Napoléon, and the Hornblower television series to gain insight into the turbulent era that was the early 19th century.
Thanks to Mr Salkey, the "making-of" documentary for the project will not only be able to mention the role of Sharpe in the project but will be able to show a behind the scenes look at the series that has inspired us so much. Mr Salkey has graciously allowed us to use clips from his Video Diaries of Rifleman Harris in our documentary. These video diaries are made up of his personal home movies that he made while on location filming Sharpe alongside Irish actor Daragh O'Malley, English folk singer John Tams, and Sean Bean of Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings fame.
We cannot express how excited we are to receive help from Mr Salkey and be able to show an intricate part of the inspiration behind the project. For more on him and his video diaries visit his website at: www.riflemanharris.co.uk. We sincerely thank him for his help and recommend his diaries to any fan of the Sharpe series.
